Why Leaders Should Pursue Physical Fitness

If you know me, you know that I am very much into physical fitness. A few years ago when I looked into the mirror I saw an unhappy, unfit, unhealthy and tired person looking back. I always thought that I was in good shape, but at that moment reality sunk. I knew that I needed to make a change or it was not going to end well.

The next day I drove to LA Fitness and joined. After taking my fitness assessment, I literally almost passed out and threw up on the sweet pregnant lady administering the testing. I was devastated and embarrassed. After 35 minutes with my head down on the table and her feeding me a protein bar, I set some goals, made some dietary changes, and I haven’t looked back. That was almost two years ago. I can say with confidence that at 46 years of age I am now in the best shape of my life.

With all of that said, I came across this great article today by Rusty Gates from the Vanderbloemen Search Group that really resinated with me. I thought I would share it here for you for your benefit. Do you have a story of your own personal experience with fitness that relates to mine? I would love to hear it.
