We had a great discussion tonight in our connect group about how God has gifted each of us for a very special purpose. He created us as a masterpiece, designed to do good things – not just any good things, but those things God has planned for us and has sent us to do.
Well, that’s good news indeed, but how do I know what those “good things” are that I need to do? Below I have listed a few options for taking a personal spiritual gifts assessment. Even if you’ve done it before, it’s a great way to rekindle the truth that God has placed you here for a purpose. I enjoy doing more than one to see the consistency of results and the variety of perspectives. You are His handiwork – His one-of-a-kind work of art. It’s time to figure out what that looks like for you.
Once you complete the assessment(s), read through the results and descriptions of your specific gifts. It would also be great to receive some feedback from some of your closest friends and spiritual influencers. You can then look for ways to develop and use those gifts in your family, community, and church. As you do, keep in mind that there are two primary tests to determine if those gifts are bearing fruit in your activity: Is God glorified? Are His people edified (built up)?
